Meet Gator Bot – your always-on,
self-hosted AI copilot.

Gator Bot runs on the Canadian Gator VPS, using Open WebUI + local models. Great for server ops, MTG deck tinkering, apothecary recipes, French practice, and planning the next ridiculous project.

Note: This chat UI lives at chat.canadiangator.net and talks to models running entirely on your VPS.

🗣️ How to talk to Gator Bot

A few habits that make conversations smoother, faster, and more “you”.

1️⃣ Give a tiny bit of context
One or two lines of background is usually enough.
  • “This is for my **VPS**: explain what these Fail2Ban stats mean and what I should keep an eye on.”
  • “I want this MTG deck to feel casual but still strong in a 4-player pod.”
2️⃣ Think “conversation”, not one-offs
Ask follow-ups, tweak, and iterate. That’s where the fun is.
  • “Okay, make the tone friendlier and shorten this to 3 sentences.”
  • “Good start – now add a sideboard plan and mana base suggestions.”
3️⃣ Set a tiny goal
Tell Gator Bot what “done” looks like for this chat.
  • “End with a checklist I can paste into my VPS notes.”
  • “Give me 5 French sentences I can copy into Anki.”

Local-first
This UI is wired to your own VPS. Still, a few personal ground rules:
  • Avoid pasting extremely sensitive secrets (API keys, full IDs) unless you really need to.
  • Treat suggestions for security and finances as drafts; verify before acting.
  • Use Gator Bot as a co-pilot, not an autopilot.
